Our extension requires certain permissions to function properly. Here's why each permission is necessary:

  • storage: To save your bookmark data, categories, tags, and preferences locally on your device.
  • bookmarks: To access and manage your browser bookmarks for organization and categorization.
  • tabs: To detect when you're adding new bookmarks and to provide context-aware suggestions.
  • activeTab: To analyze the content of the current page when you choose to bookmark it for accurate categorization.
  • host permissions: To communicate with our backend server for AI processing of bookmark data.

Information We Collect

The extension collects the following information:

  • Bookmark metadata (title, URL, date added)
  • Page content for AI analysis (only when you bookmark a page)
  • User preferences and settings
  • Usage statistics (e.g., how often you use certain features)

What We DO NOT Collect:

  • Personal identification information
  • Browsing history beyond bookmarked pages
  • Login credentials or passwords

How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

  • To provide and improve the core functionality of the extension (bookmark organization, categorization, and suggestions)

  • To personalize your experience based on your preferences and usage patterns
  • To troubleshoot issues and improve the extension's performance

We do not:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Use your data for advertising purposes
  • Share your data with third parties except as required for the AI processing functionality

Data Storage & Security

We take data security seriously:

  • Your bookmark data and preferences are primarily stored locally on your device using the browser's secure storage API.
  • When data is sent to our backend for AI processing, it is transmitted using secure HTTPS connections.
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect data in transit and at rest.
  • Data sent for AI processing is temporarily stored only for the duration needed to process it and is automatically deleted afterward.
  • We regularly review our security practices to ensure your data remains protected.

Third-Party Services

Our extension uses the following third-party services:

  • Google's Gemini 2.0 Flash Lite API: Used for AI-powered bookmark categorization and content suggestion. Data sent to this service is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Our Backend Server: Processes bookmark data for AI analysis. This server follows the same privacy practices outlined in this policy.

We carefully select third-party services that maintain high standards of security and privacy.
